Our Story

Born from harness expertise. Built for cats.

BAYCAT began with a question. When cat owners started buying the small step-in harnesses from our sister company, BAYDOG, and sharing their adventures online, we had to ask — why were so many cats wearing dog harnesses?
Cats aren't small dogs — and their gear shouldn't be either.
So we built one that is. An extended torso, a martingale-style adjustment, smaller arm openings, and lightweight breathable materials — every detail designed around how cats actually move. Secure enough to trust outdoors, comfortable enough to forget.

It's built to make that as hard as possible. An extended torso, smaller arm openings, and our martingale-style adjustment tighten the fit the moment your cat tries to back out. No harness is fully escape-proof, but BAYCAT gives you the most secure fit we can.

BAYCAT comes in four sizes, XS–L. Measure your cat's chest girth just behind the front legs and match it to our size chart. Between sizes, size up. Most adult cats land in S or M.

Yes — every BAYCAT Harness includes a matching 6 ft leash with a padded neoprene handle and reflective stitching. A complete set, no separate purchase.

Our XS fits many kittens and petite cats, while L suits larger breeds. Always measure first — and if your cat is outside the XS–L range, reach out.

Start indoors. Let your cat wear it for short, calm sessions with treats before adding the leash. Build up gradually — patio, then yard. Most cats adjust within a week or two.

It's lightweight and breathable with a step-in design that sits soft against fur. That said, we recommend supervised adventures rather than leaving any harness on unattended.

Hand wash in cool water with mild soap and air dry. Skip the machine and dryer to protect the materials and reflective stitching.
